Most of us know in our hearts that the homeless and the poor are not so very different from us. They may be the victims of poor planning or an unavoidable crisis. Some of them are mentally ill, some are addicted to drugs or alcohol, and some are choosing to be homeless for reasons we may never understand. We can imagine that, given their lives, we would likely have ended up in the same place. This does not mean that we are meant to rescue them as they are on their own learning path, but it does remind us that we can treat them as equals, because that is what they are. Even if we aren’t able to offer food, shelter, or money, we can offer a blessing as we pass. We can look them in the eye and acknowledge our shared humanness, even if we don’t know how to help them. This simple act of kindness and silent or spoken blessings can be helpful to those living on the street.

If you want to help with information, you can learn about the services in your area and share the locations of food banks, shelters, and other resources. As parents, perhaps you would like to plan ahead, talking with your children about how as a family you would like to handle these situations. Whatever you decide to do, you will feel much better when you make a conscious choice not to simply look away.

Recently returning from Mount Tamborine after some time with family camping I have the following story to share! So as it is that it is I shared this today at Church.

Fortunately learning from the stars and sleeping on the earth fortunes us with the most amazing experiences often; and herewith – this is just another.

A Father and his two children were camped out nearby our site; after initial hello’s – how are you! How are you enjoying time – the offer to take my girls with him allowed me the time to take lunch with my friend.

The aspect – small township village upon the top of the mountain. Wandering into the café I asked “do you serve hot chips?” no was the answer – [expletive! ] I thought! and then came the verbal response from the assistant – oh! don’t worry! … it’s just your fate; mmm I don’t think so … my fate doesn’t depend upon becoming the opinion of someone else.  My mind can lead me to create destiny … so! No thanks! … I wandered out and told my friend what had happened and said “now it’s your turn” see if they have what you like. So we traded places whilst tending to our little dog.

With the decision of my friend together we decided to move along and create destiny in the adventure of the little dog on the lead and my mind leading the way. Chips … they were on my mind. In this space nothing less would I settle for.

Upon reaching another Café – politely inquiring “can we eat whilst our dog is with us – outside?” … yes came the response as I simultaneously noticed the blackboard chalked up Hot Chips and Aioli! … yay! Destiny for the moment!

Settling in to the table side outside I saw a little pathway – very narrow; however almost beckoning me to take the path – so me being me – I did!.

Coming into a carpark with boxes, bread crates and nothing much more than concrete as a landfill … I did the 360 component of observation and my eyes spotted this pre-loved bookstore! … going into the bookstore was a maze! … so well organized and displayed – this here, that there … then, rare books; well, I headed there and chose a rare red book named Elbert Hubbard’s Scrap Book.  The copy which I have is 86 years aged; so much energy it withholds and as I know and have read books of this age are “voices of the distant and the dead, and make us heirs of the spiritual life of past ages”.  (W.E. Now as time seemed it I took this book back to camp base (after eating my chips!!!) … yes; I thoroughly enjoyed them and now back to my diet!

Back at base camp taking the book in my hands I lay in the basking sliding light of sundown. Taking in all that there is at that time upon the eve as the Kookaburras’ are having their last laugh of the day and the light casting shadows for tomorrow to explore I opened the book.  My eyes went directly to this following piece of writing which I read today at our gathering in “church”.

Keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love that sin, disease, and death can not enter them. It is plain that nothing can be added to the mind already full. There is no door through which evil can enter, and no space for evil to fill in a mind filled with goodness. Good thoughts are an impervious armor; clad therewith you are completely shielded from the attacks of error of every sort.

And not only yourselves are safe, but all whom your thoughts rest upon are thereby benefited.

The self-seeking pride of the evil thinker injures him when he would harm others. Goodness involuntary resists evil. The evil thinker is the proud talker and doer. The right thinker abides under the shadow of the almighty. His thoughts can only reflect peace, good will towards men, health, and holiness.

It enables you to stand happily and quietly in a gap of ignorance and let everyone wait until you’re ready.  Then in the quietness, to fill the moment with strength before a word has been said. And when nerves persist in shaking your poise, it enables you to administer softness and silence and make the whole machine calm down.

Self-confidence runs deeper, much deeper than nerves.  Self-confidence works gently, but it can also cut sharply the web of false connections that make you think that people are criticising.  And at its strongest, it makes it possible to disintegrate a thought in someone’s mind before it’s even been realised by the thinker.
So they were going to shoot, but they veer off into passivity.   Confidence is power.  What is the method to gain self-confidence?  One way is to talk, not to others but to yourself.  At moments of insecurity, it’s warming to talk to someone else,  but it is safe to talk to yourself because inside there is a reserve of love that will see you through anything.

Friendship isn’t so consistent or eternal. After talking to yourself, giving nerves a niche to quietly panic in, then it’s best to “do”. Action, together with quiet love, kills nerves and creates a reserve of courage that, stored, can be drawn on later.   The more you love, then do, the deeper the store of coinage, and the less you have to prime yourself.   Ultimately the love you needed can be given to someone else.  Complete and untouched.   And not only love: peace, serenity, loyalty… can all be given, without you touching them. Life may be asking you to be determined, but you can still find a drop of serenity for someone else’ use. Then you’re not just giving, on the basis of need, but you’re filling a need.
When confidence is deep, there is the foundation for real giving.   Real means “I” am silent, no jangling nerves or loud thoughts, Stillness. And in that stillness, I can hear you.  The reference for this such reading is here “Inner Beauty”  A Book Of Virtues.

Now I bet you are thinking! Bras? what the heck does a Church have to do with Bras? well it is a Brilliant Radical Arrangement by The Rotary Club – The Brisbane Healing & Training Centre and the Northside Spiritualist Church.

The idea behind this is to ensure that the women in Papua New Guinea learn a sense of pride alongwith the initiative “more sense; appropriately dressed”.  Please note: should the following extract from the Redcliffe Bayside Herald be a little difficult to read please follow this instruction*.

Church gathers again this Sunday the 16th of November whereby after I shall be able to add more to this space which is an initiative by all that associate themselves with peace for a better way of living with an emphasis on sharing what we know and understanding what we don’t.

Greetings to you that has peacefully arrived in front of the tree within the internet that encapsulates the information wished to share with all from the Brisbane Northside Spiritualist Church in Brisbane, Australia.

We are a gathering of like-minded individuals – when I type that keep in mind that a deriviation for the meaning itself is within the text of like-minded as a “mouse-click” reference to enable a resource/dictionary to discover “some” further understanding (if you choose).

I would like to highlight to you the reader of this text that the “coloured text” within this content is for the purpose of allowing a navigation to a further resource that enlarges upon the usage of the word/and/or the strength of the word: some are only adjectives – no expletives! I believe a greater understanding can be sourced before reading onward – there is no point reading on if one gets stuck somewhere! better to be clear than just anywhere.

Like-minded does not mean that we share a faith; however and moreover we share “faith” in one and other with an acceptance that there is a greater god whom in this understanding is omnipresent and the choice is up to the citizen which “form” the god takes.  After all it is not what form god takes but the power of god within that makes the matter.

Our gatherings occur in a local community hall.  We are named a “church” because of the nature in which the gathering together takes place.

The Role of Minister of the Church is facilitated by Gena Alston.

We have a certain “format” in which the members take pride participating within.  I think I shall “format” that in another post, as this is an introductory “hello” to the world in digital form! and I don’t want to confuse things by categorizing themes that should occur in other arrangements!

We have alot of fun moments together and enjoy differing things that make for each and everyone a “unique” experience within the journey of one’s life.  I am not about to break out here on this post because it is my belief that introductions are not about impressions, however moreover “expressions”.
